| Jerry O Connell in the cork office of CareerWise Recruitment requires an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
for our Cork client.
THE ROLE
Leads the development of processes and procedures for the manufacture of New Products. Drives innovation in new process development. Coordinate, conduct and document all necessary testing and validation prior to and during design transfer into manufacturing. Develop robust, repeatable and capable processes to ensure product safety, efficacy, quality and customer satisfaction.
Investigation, design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies to support the introduction and manufacture of new products
Ensure that all goals relating to product quality, product cost, process yield, cycle-time, workstation and cell ergonomics, and manufacturing line efficiencies are achieved during new product and process development.
Procurement, contract negotiation, installation, validation of new manufacturing equipment, tooling and fixtures. Compilation of Capital Expenditure Requisitions.
Liaise with supply chain personnel for specification of raw materials, components, sub assemblies, process consumables and the sourcing, auditing and validation of new suppliers.
Handover of new processes from development to manufacturing. Ensure all appropriate engineering prints, MAPS and all other essential process related documentation is in place prior to production start.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have excellent analytical skills and be able to analyze and correct complex product and/or process issues using independent judgment.
Excellent interpersonal communications skills. Ability to operate in a fast paced environment. Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical problem solving skills with the ability to operate small hand tools and inspection equipment and assemble small components.
Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of the principles of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
3-5 Years related Engineering experience in an R&D or manufacturing environment and/or a Masters Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering will also be considered.
Bachelor Engineering or Masters Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Materials Science).
Good computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, data base).
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems.
